The type of safety goggles chosen for use in CH085 are designed to protect your eyes not only from any accidents you might have, but from accidents caused by people working around you. So the lab goggles must prevent direct splashes from entering the eyes from the sides as well as the front. As a result, the vents on the sides of the goggles have baffles that prevent splashes but impede venting. It is tempting to poke these vents out; DON'T DO THIS. If the vents are removed, the goggles no longer meet our safety standards.
